Teaser Tuesdays

Posted by Emily at Tuesday, May 15, 2012
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Okay, so the book i'd like to share is 'Gone at Zero Hundred 00:00'(yes, the title does actually make sense when you get to the last fifty pages) but that's on my Kindle Fire, and my Kindle Fire is being annoying and freezing every two seconds, and I don't feel like messing with it ATM. So instead, i'll be sharing a teaser from a random book i'll pull out with my eyes closed of my currently reading pile.(I bet you ten bucks they'll all fall down when I do this, but oh well.)
Okay, they didn't fall down, but that's because I supported the others with my hands! Very hard to do with your eyes closed, and the book being one of the bottom ones wasn't helping.
I'm actually not that far into this book, Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen, but I adored the movie so I needed to get the book, and I do like the book so far, although it starts off slow.
(Sorry for the lack of cover- Blogger is being a jerk right now. UPDATE: oh wait... nevermind.. i'd logged out so Blogger couldn't find the image *blush*)
Okay, so now i'll quit my rambling and get straight to the teaser!
'She lifted the stake high in the air and brought it down, splitting his head like a watermelon. His pate opened, his eyes grew wide, and his mouth froze into an O. He fell to his knees and then toppled forward into the straw.'
-p. 4
Believe it or not, that's from the prologue- where does this new act of spoiling the ending in the prologue come from, Miss Gruen? Hmm? (sorry for my sarcasm, that just really annoyed me for some reason)
